Mauser BYF44 8mm
The BYF code would indicate that this Mauser was manufactured by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf in late 1944. Only the action is numbered, bolt matches itself, barrel bands and trigger guard are stamped vs milled and are not numbered to speed arms production late in the war. The rifle’s stock and metal are in excellent condition, the barrel is shiny and has very defined lands and grooves. The rifle also comes with an original WWII rifle sling and a 1944 dated 44cvl (WKC 1940-45) bayonet with scabbard which is not numbered. Nazi-style and Waffenamts are intact, there are no import marks and it’s not a Russian capture. This Mauser is a great part of history and as stated above in excellent condition.
