The Eddystone Rifle Plant was the world’s biggest rifle factory during World War I, producing an average of 5,000 rifles per year. The M1917, also known as the Enfield rifle, was the main battle rifle used by American troops during World War I. It was a bolt-action, breech-loading rifle that used .30-’06 caliber ammunition. This rifle was manufactured in August of 1918 and is stamped ?O.G.E.K.? on the left side of the stock and the ?P? with the circle on the underside of the stock. The rifle is in very good condition and appears to function as designed. Please see photos.
