Winchester 1895 405 WIN
The 1895 in .405 gained national prominence in October 1910 when Theodore Roosevelt wrote, “… the Winchester .405 is, at least for me personally, the ‘medicine gun’ for lions.” The Winchester 1895 .405 is a lever-action rifle chambered for the .405 Winchester cartridge, which was introduced in 1904. The .405 Winchester was the most powerful lever-action cartridge available at the time, with a muzzle velocity of 2,200 feet per second and over 3,200 foot-pounds of muzzle energy. The .405 Winchester is still considered one of the most powerful rimmed cartridges for lever-action rifles today. The Model 1895 was designed for smokeless powder cartridges and is known for its strength, reliability, and quick handling. It has a box magazine and can use pointed bullets. The Model 1895 was used for hunting, target shooting, and military service around the world. This Rifle Features a 27” Bright barrel and remains in Very Good condition.
