Lot 2905:
Browning 71 Carbine .348 Win
Some experts consider the Model 71 to be the most refined of all the traditional lever-action designs. It was known for smooth function, thanks to quality craftsmanship and the tapered .348 Win. cartridge. There was a rifle model with a 24-inch barrel and a carbine model with a 20-inch barrel. The model was discontinued in 1957, with almost 50,000 rifles manufactured during its 22-year run. In 1986 Browning made a limited run of about 13,000 Model 71s in its Miroku, Japan, manufacturing facility. The carbine shown here is one of those, Stamped Made in Japan on the 20" Barrel. This Rifle is in Great condition showing normal signs of use and little signs of handling marks. Please see all of the photos.
