Waffenfabrik Bern 81 10.4x38
This is the Mauser Model 1881 (M.81) military rifle S/N 222556 shown on the barrel , receiver, bolt, and on the floor of the carrier. There is an "M ” inside a shield stamped into the right side of the forestock, and buttstock. The bluing is still intact and in very good condition. These rifles were made between 1882-1889 for black powder with a 31 in. barrel with bayonet lug. The caliber is thought to be 10.4X38. Please see photos.
