COLT SP1 .223
Colt started selling the semi-automatic version of the M16 rifle as the Colt AR-15 in 1964. The first mass production version was the Colt AR-15 Sporter, in .223 Remington, with a 20-inch barrel, issued with 5-round magazines.This rifle was manufactured in 1964 as dated by the serial number, SP02212 . The rifle has all of the correct early features including the three-prong flash hider, post front sight, bayonet lug, ventilated triangular handguard, fixed carry handle, two leaf windage adjustable rear peep sight, checkered grip, and fixed buttstock without the trapdoor buttplate. This rifle is in excellent condition and is sold with one original magazine and a sling. Please see photos.
