The Model 1889 was the first in the series of Schmidt?Rubin rifles that served Switzerland from 1889 to 1958. The rifle takes its name from the designer of its action, Colonel Rudolf Schmidt, and the designer of its ammunition, Colonel Eduard Rubin. Production of the rifle began in 1891. This rifle is dated back to a manufactured date between 1891-1897 based on production number and a serial number of 46835, which appears on receiver, bolt, barrel, magazine, and butt plate. The rifle is in very good condition, showing normal signs of use and wear. Please see photos.
