Spanish Orbea pattern model 1915 revolver. In the beginning of World War 1 England had a shortage of of side arms. The British military made contracts with any country that could supply them. Spain offered to supply 30,000 pistols in .455 caliber. There were three companies under the parent company of Orbea Hermanos y cia of Eibar Spain and all of them were copies of the Smith & Wesson Frontier double action (except for them being in.455 cal.) The revolvers carry the British Crown over V proofs on the barrel lug and the frame and every flute of the cylinder. The revolver is in very good condition and appears to function as designed.
